Welcome to the museum of Bellas Artes Neuquén (National Museum of Fine Arts Neuquén)
 
Single seat of this institution within the country, opened on September 12, 2004 on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of this city. Its construction was a very important step because in recent years towards decentralization of the cultural heritage of the Nation.
The building, designed by architect Mario Roberto Alvarez, and considered a work of contemporary, received the highest award from the National Architecture Biennale 2004, recognizing it as an emblematic building of the country.
Its rooms have a selected collection of works of art in its exposure of heritage, ranging from the Renaissance to Impressionism, including the classic Spanish, Dutch and English schools, Romanticism and Realism. Joined to one of the largest national collections in the country, comprising, among others, by works of the precursors, the generation of 80, the group of Paris and the avant-garde.
Moreover, an active program of temporary exhibitions, which brings together the most important creators of national and universal art, keeps the public in almost permanent contact with the most diverse artistic expressions, in a relationship absolutely alive with the museum.
There has been exhibits from Pablo Picasso, Emilio Pettorutti, Leon Ferrari, Antonio Berni, Norah Borges, Sculptures and Drawings of the ICO of Spain, Benito Quinquela Martin, among others of the great exponents of the visual arts.
Artists such as Luis Tomasello, Raul Lozza, Diana Dowek and Leon Ferrari, among others, donated works to this institution, which contributed to enriching the artistic and cultural heritage of the city.
Like most modern museums in the world, MNBA Neuquen complements its range of cultural activities in parallel with its agenda of eposures and exhibits, many of which are developed at its auditorium, specially designed to host in its interior various cultural events .
In addition to the museum's own timetable, this space houses activities organized by various stakeholders, such as educational institutions, NGOs, government agencies and private companies. It´s artistic literature library and cafe completes the true nature of social centre which holds MNBA among the inhabitants of this capital.
A museum born in the Centenary of one of the most modern cities in the country, at the dawn of the third millennium. A bet from the State for Culture, as a testimony of a genuine society of free men and women.
